The Underwater Photography Guide is hosting a special underwater photo competition to bring people together, promote artistic expres, and raise money to help oppose Coronavirus
The Underwater Photography Guide is proud to announce that it is accepting entries for a special Ocean Art Safe Under the Sea Underwater Photo Competition. The contest was created as a style to bring our global dive community together in lieu of the coronavirus pandemic. International dive travel is one of the businesses hit hardest by the recent economic downturn. Dive operators, travel agents, and customers have all been largely affected and underwater photographers are some of the most prolific customers. The full Ocean Art 2020 will open in Autumn of this year a aSafe Under the Seaa is an additional mid-year competition.
Times are tough, but perhaps now is the most opportune moment to self-reflect, learn, reminisce, edit photos, and supporting our extended human family. The Underwater Photography Guide has teamed up with Bluewater Photo and Travel to present a special edition of our prestigious underwater photography competitor- Ocean Art: Safe Under the Sea. The objective of this photo competition is to bring our global underwater photographic community together, offer an outlet for creative expres, and to raise money to help fight Covid-1 9 for the benefit of all. One one-quarter of all proceeds will be donated to the CDC Foundation and the WHO Covid-1 9 response fund!
Ocean Art is one of the most prestigious underwater photo competitions in the world and one of the best endowed. It attracts amateur to pro photographers across the globe. Fifteen categories ensure all photo disciplines and cameras vie fairly, while the 75+ winning images will create a portfolio of some of the best examples of human spirit as we stay at home.
Ocean Art Safe Under the Sea prizes is guaranteed by seven courageous sponsors, dedicated to supporting our global underwater photography community. Prizes include gift credentials from Bluewater Photo, gift credentials from Bluewater Travel, a dive journey for one with Atlantis Dive Resorts( Philippines ), a dive trip-up with Aquamarine Diving( Indonesia ), a $500 gift certification and a DS 161 strobe from Ikelite, and a Sea Dragon 3000 F Auto Photo/ Video Light from SeaLife.
There have been some exciting alters made for the Safe Under the Sea contest! After receiving some amazing entries last year to the Blackwater and Underwater Conservation categories, a Shipwreck category has been added to highlight man-made structures that have found their way below the waves. Ocean Art Safe Under the Sea consists of 12 categories total, including 3 compact camera categories, devoting any underwater photographer a chance to win a great prize. Unique categories include Cold/ Temperate Water, Blackwater, Underwater Conservation, and Shipwrecks, while the more traditional categories include Wide-Angle, Macro, Marine Life Portraits and Marine Life Behavior. The Underwater Art category promotes ingenuity in post-processing.
Winners from each category will be able to rank the prizes they would like to receive, constructing it most likely that each win will receive a prize they desire. This competition will be judged by our dedicated staff at the Underwater Photography Guide.
Photos must be submitted before the deadline of 23:59 PM PST on June 30, 2020.
